The article is not intended
to be a "Full Blast Analysis of Google" but rather a very
Basic Overview or guideline to the systems and processes
of Google
At the outset allow me to make it very clear that there is a
huge distinction between "Being Listed" on Google.....,
doing "Pay per Click Advertising"..., and having an "Adsense
Income Generating Web Site". I will attempt to explain
the difference as best I can in this article.
Why Get Listed On Google?
More and more people, now-a-days, are using the Internet and more
so "Google" as their Primary Source of information on any
Topic or Item which they may be looking for. The rapid
advancement of electronics, computers and the International
Communication Technology as a whole has made this possible and
as a business owner one should endeavour to have your business
listed on Google as soon as possible as the days of printed
advertising and "Yellow Pages" will soon be something of the
past.
We, at Find It Namibia, have realised this and as a
result, finditnamibia.com was born in November 2006. The main aim of our
business is and remains, to assist business owners and entrepreneurs from all
walks of life, private to corporate, to have their own websites
and thus get themselves listed on Google and by doing so become
"visible" where most people go
to find information.
In order to be listed on Google one has to understand what it
takes to be listed and how the system works. One also needs to
take specific steps and in a specific sequence if you want to be
successful and I discuss most of this in the other articles on
this page.
(Please refer to the Article Navigation Map at the
top, left on this page)
Now, it's not that difficult to get listed as a website with
Google but it is rather complicated to have you business listed
under the exact Keywords that people might use when they search
in order to find the Products or Services that you represent or
sell.
Over and above the afore going, you need to get your business
onto the first page that Google would present to anybody
searching for products or services you may be selling as it is
rather unlikely that a person would look further than the first
page of information for they normally find what they were
looking for within the first 5 or maybe 10 options offered by Google on their
first page for a specific keyword or phrase.
Google realised that it will become a virtual impossibility for
people across the world to compete on Google for a placement as
literally millions of web pages are available on any topic and
they therefore have decided to REGIONALISE Google and
thus the advent of Google.com.na - (Namibia), Google.co.za
- (South Africa), Google.com.de - (Germany), etc, etc.
Whilst the Internet
Industry in Namibia is still very much in it's "Baby Shoes", so
to speak, one should get ahead of the crowd and have yourself
listed whilst the going is still relatively easy.

Some Of
Our Humble Achievements To Date
There are a tremendous amount of things
one has to do in order to improve your rankings on Google or any
search engine for that matter and to name but a few, it involves
Meta Keywords, Meta Tags, Meta Description, Keyword Density in Articles, No. of
visitors to your sites, Fresh or New Articles on a regular basis
and much, much more than I would like to use this article for.
However you'll see some eBooks displayed on both sides of this
article which I can truly recommend if you would like to read
more on the topics discussed in this article. Some Of these
eBooks can be downloaded from our site for FREE and they are
clearly marked as such.
At Find It Namibia we have implemented a system, which
incorporates all of these required functions and through which
we introduced, to Google and other Search Engines, not only our
company, Find It Namibia but also each and every one of the 751
categories we currently have published on our website
finditnamibia.com, as well as each and every client of ours as
our list grows.
We are, in essence, a Business Index Site and not a
Business Directory Site as we list an Index with more than
750 Categories and our aim is to eventually have (5)Five
Namibian Based Businesses listed & hosted in each Category. We
present our visitor with the complete websites of our clients in
each Category and we act as a "vehicle" through which the
websites of our clients are easily and quickly listed on Google
and most of the other Major Search Engines.
A Business Directory Site, more than likely, will have
all the relevant details such as Company name, Contact Details
and Address of companies listed.
We are of the opinion that
visitors needing or looking for information on Namibian
Companies or business would more likely than not use
search terms such as follows;
Business Index,
Namibian -or- Namibian, Business Index -or-
Business Index, Namibia
-or- Namibia, Business Index
Listed below, I would like to share with you some of the results
we have had to date by using the above terms or a combination
thereof on our Home Page of our site.
(Please note that these numbers changes
constantly and that the quoted here below were the numbers as at
the time of writing this article.)
The results were similar on all the following Google Search
Engines;
Google.com
Google, Worldwide
Google.com.na
Google, Namibia
Google.co.za
Google, South Africa
google.de
Google, Germany

Out of about 1.360.000 (One Million, Three Hundred and Sixty
Thousand) websites, listed on Google for this search phrase, we
find ourselves listed as Number 26, on page Three
and we are the 6th Entry from the top of the page.
This means that we have
managed to get ahead
of 1.369,974 other websites listed for the same search
phrase. Now this is no small achievement considering the fact
that our website has only been published on Internet since
November 2006.
Enter the search term finditnamibia into Google and you
will be shown a page that says something as follows in the top
right hand coner;
"Results 1 -
6 of about 15 for
finditnamibia".
Now please
find the phrase
"repeat the search with the omitted results
included" at
the bottom of that very same Google page and click on it or
simply click on the excerpt here above (it will open in a
separate window) the new page will reveal to you that google
have visited and listed more than 1,900 of our website pages
(Client web pages and back-links from other sites, included) to date.

We can go on and on but the bottom line is, Once you have a
website on finditnamibia.com, the search engines and most of all
Google picks you up and your website will be listed on Google
and as such be available for your customers as they will simply
have to feed your website or company name into Google for
directions to your website.
Some Examples of websites of our Client already listed on Google
Umti, Namibian Lubricants, Namibia Joinery Supplies, Brandco
Business Advisors, Eagle Estates, Learn2Earn2Day, Sontowebcash,
PhoneTronic Cellular, Prodev,...and the list goes on and on.
Yes, we must be doing at least a few things right for our own
site and the sites of our customers to
get listed so soon.
With that said, I would like to conclude on the topic of
GETTING your Company or Business LISTED ON GOOGLE.

THE GOOGLE PRINCIPLE
For more than four years now, I have been
studying the methodology of Google and I am more convinced now
than ever before that no one person will ever be able to say;
that he or she truly understands Google and that he or she truly
understand the way in which the
"Powers at Be" at Google plan to do things.
Allow me to elaborate just a little bit on this topic.
Over time, Google has achieved the status of being the # ONE
- INFO Source on the Internet where one would go to find
information on just about any topic thinkable.
The one burning question is, "How did they achieve this?",
and in order to answer this question, one needs to have at least
a basic understanding of how Google works.
Well, here it comes.........
Step One
In short, Google (G) started the process by selling to Business Owners
(A) the idea that they,
Google, will put the ads of the Business Owners in front of the
eyes of 100's & 1000's of prospective customers who searches for exactly the
service or item that these Business Owners want to advertise.
and they, The Business Owners (A) agree to Pay Google
(G) for every time anybody clicks on one of their ads.
Please note that Business Owners (A) negotiate a price
which they are prepared to pay for every click on one of their
ads and based on this price, Google (G) will decide how
much preference the ads of (A) will get as opposed
to the ads of other Business Owners who might be willing to pay
more than (A) for ads with relevance to the same theme or
topic as those of (A).
(A) also has to
Pay In Advance before (G) will even consider
placing these ads.
This process is known as;
Pay
Per Click Advertising
Results of this Process = Immediate Expense to
Business Owner (A) ,
Immediate Income to Google (G)
Possible increase in business for (A)
The TRADE OFF: =
The more (A) is prepared to pay (G) for each
click, the
better the chances will be for getting their ads placed on
HIGH TRAFFIC sites with specific reference to ads on the
same keywords or topics of other business owners who
choose to pay less.
Step Two
Google then continued with the process by selling to
Website Owners (B) the idea that if they allow Google
(G) to place ads on their websites, which has relevance to
the topic or the theme of their websites, that they will get
money from Google (G) for every time a visitor to their
websites would click on any of the ads on their sites.
Google now placed the ads of Business Owners (A) onto the
Website of Website Owners (B), which
had articles that tied up with the item or service as
advertised.
This process is known as;
Adsense
Results of this Process = Website Owners would now
Market, Promote and Advertise
their sites, trying to get more and more visitors to their sites
with the hope that these visitors will click on some of the
(G)
ads and by doing so, earn them, (B) some money.
Visitors to the websites of (B) clicks on "Google
ads"
(The ads of (A).) and Google immediately
charges the Credit
Balance of the deposit of (A), for each click.
Google will now, on a once a month basis, pay a small portion
of the amount which they have charged (A) over to (B)
Being Listed on Google
The Web Site Owners (B) all whish to be on the FIRST Page
of the Google Search Results for as many Key Words pertaining to
their website pages as possible as their web pages will be
presented to more Visitors or SEARCHERS FOR INFO.
These visitors will be presented with a Site Owner's
web site amongst other websites covering the same theme or
topic or in some cases simply carrying similar keywords.
These results are normally presented on a page containing 10
Listings per page and the ideal is to have a site listing appear
at the top or at least amongst the first (5) five as this means
the visitor does not even have to scroll down the page to see
the listing.
Depending on the information
displayed in the listing, normally the "Meta Tag Description"
or a portion of the introduction paragraph of the page, the SEARCHER will
select the Site Owner's site and once on the site, chances are
that the SEARCHER will click on some of the ads which Google has
placed on the site and that the Site Owner will get the ADSENSE
income for each click. (Getting Your Site Listed and
Improving your Page Ranking = more Adsense Clicks= More
Adsense Income)
The Google Principle, as can be seen from the afore going, is to
be in Total Control throughout the entire sequence of events and
to get the most money out of the process whilst having the least
risk and effort of all those involved.

Pay Per Click Advertising
Google uses their search engine as an advertising board for
Business Owners who want to expose their businesses, companies
or websites to many millions of other people, who in turn
searches for information on Google.com ( This type of
advertising is called "Pay Per Click" or "PPC"
Advertising )
These Business Owners pay dearly to have their ads placed onto
pages of websites where the articles, the theme or the
topic of such web pages are closely related to the item, the
service or the product which they, the advertisers, want
to sell.
Now how would
Google be able to simply add one person's ads to another
person's web pages? Find the answer in the next section dealing
with "The Adsense System" (How it works)
Now every time anybody would click on one of these ads of
Google, anywhere on the Internet, the click is registered and
the person who placed the ad with Google will be charged a
certain amount of money by Google for this click, whether he has
made a sale of his product or not. By the way, the advertiser
pays Google in advance and Google debits this advance payment,
with every click, until it has been used in full after which the
advertiser would have to make a further payment or else his or
her ads would simply be removed from the Google service.
So for the Advertiser it is important that his ads are placed
onto the "correct" page or rather onto pages where
the prospects he wishes to get to his own site, are most likely
to search for he would not like to pay Google for Clicks that
does not generate business for himself.
Now believe me when I say that it is an absolute art to
successfully maximise your results in Pay Per Click Advertising
and you will find links to detailed articles and eBooks, written
by very successful and knowledgeable people on this Topic in the
Section That deals with
"More Info
About Pay Per Click"
(Please refer to the Article Navigation Map
at the top of this page)
The principle in itself is quite sensible and it provides,
massive exposure to those who are placing the ads and to those
who are looking for information, it provides a much larger
platform of info at a single glance.

THE ADSENSE SYSTEM ( How it works)
Once again, Google has come up with a rather novel idea which
they call "ADSENSE".
In order for Google to place their ads onto a persons website,
they have decided to pay the owner of the website onto which
they place these ads, a small portion of the money
which they get from the advertiser for every click.
Literally MILLIONS of people all over the world suddenly started
putting up websites on any topic thinkable in order to get
Google to put ads on their websites and then get paid for the
clicks on their web pages.
Some Very Successful People are earning millions of dollars
per year with this system and do Adsense for a living.
So, in order to be able to administer this, Google put together
a system which works as follows.
You have to own a Published Website and you formally have to
apply to Google for an adsense account. Google then inspects
your website and they will decide whether your website meets
their minimum standard requirements or not. This process can
take anything from 7 days to three weeks and if the answer is
"Yes" they will open an ADSENSE ACCOUNT for you and they will
start placing ads on the pages of your website.
Once this account is in place, the real job starts.
You now have to attract people to your website in order to have
any chance of someone clicking on your Google Adsense ads so you
could earn money
If the answer is "NO" you are basically as good as dead as far
as ADSENSE is concerned for they will allow you to fix the
apparent shortcomings of your website and they will even allow
you to re-apply but they do not guarantee that they will allow
you in, nor do they commit to a minimum time it might take to
re-visit your site again. The worst part of a NON-APPROVAL is
that although they tell you that your site is unacceptable, they
will not tell you exactly what the problem is or where you have
made a mistake and what you need to fix to get their approval.
There are many pitfalls on the way to success with Adsense and
one needs to be aware of all these do's and don'ts to truly
succeed. an example of a Don't is that you should never, but
never click on any ads by Google which they have placed on one
of your own sites as you'll be banned and blacklisted by Google
and you will never be allowed into their inner circle again.
Many books have been written on the topic of Adsense and many
people are making lots of money selling so called "ADSENSE
READY MADE - WEBSITES" and eBooks, which they profess, holds the
ULTIMATE SECRET to adsense success. Be Carefull what you buy and
what you read.
